On Sunday, April 10 we walk and run up the Scenic Hill in Huonville to raise funds to tackle suicide and promote positive mental health in the Huon Valley. Join us as we raise significant funds and build awareness. Together we raise #hopeinthehuon. Partner with Rotary, the Huon Valley Council, PCYC, Rural Alive and Well, Lifeline Tasmania, StandBy Tas, The Royal Flying Doctors Mental Health Service, community members, schools, business and mental health services. This is by the Huon Valley and for the Huon Valley, and all money raised will stay in the Huon. Register now! All money raised is tax deductible and many local businesses are groups are contributing funds and support. Money raised will be used to deliver FREE mental health first aid information sessions, mental health education and training for Huon Valley community members. The remaining funds will be shared across several mental health programs providing services in the Huon Valley.

Gathering Point at PCYC
Parking will be available around the PCYC, 72 Wilmot Road, Huonville. Please make your own way to the start of the walk on Scenic Hill Road, an easy
10 minute walk from the PCYC.
The PCYC will be hosting a family friendly Open Day, Virtual Run option and supporting activities at the PCYC.
We invite all participants back to the PCYC after the walk for a short presentation ceremony and to join us for a free BBQ lunch.

Where do the funds go?
30% of funds raised will directly support free community mental health education and training and be facilitated by the Council’s Mental Health and Resilience
70% of funds raised will be directly shared to mental health services operating in the Huon Valley, including Rural Alive and Well, Royal Flying Doctors Service, StandBy Tas and A Lifeline Tasmania.

Yes, all donations are tax-deductible through Rotary.
What time and date is the event?
The Hilltop Hike Starts at 9:30am on Sunday the 10th of April. This is the time of the actual run. Please be at the Huon Valley PCYC at 9 am so we can be ready to leave on time.
Where does it leave from?
The starting line is the bottom of Scenic Hill, between Frankcomb Street and Wellington Street.
How long is the run/walk and what is the terrain like?
The course is 2 kilometers long. It is very steep and is mainly an unsealed road. The surface has loose gravel and care needs to be taken in order to prevent slips.
Is it wheelchair accessible.
Yes, it is, though the gradient and texture may present a challenge.
I don’t feel that I can do the Hike. Is there an alternative that I can participate in?
A virtual event is being held at the PCYC in Huonville. More details will be forthcoming.
